Before & after portrait commission of Maureen G from California.
Maureen commissioned me to transform her into an artistic vintage portrait. The art had to reflect her love for unbridled wildlife in a tropical paradise setting displaying her spiritual beliefs. Her requests were to somehow incorporating a parrot, uncaged birds, an embroidered peasant blouse with long hair that rises high. Rather than place color everywhere, I felt that the Macaws (parrots) radiated so much hue, everything else is allowed to be muted.
Lastly I added a Coqui (frog native to Puerto Rico) sitting on her favorite flower, the Bird of Paradise to symbolize her cultural heritage.
